Not all joint supplements are created equal.

Hip & Joint Elite+ was formulated for dogs facing real joint challenges. The ones who hesitate at the stairs, lag behind on walks, or carry the weight of years in their hips. This isn't a maintenance formula. It's built for dogs who need meaningful, targeted support.

What makes it different?  UC-II® isn't like other collagen. Rather than simply rebuilding damaged tissue, this undenatured Type II collagen works at the immune level, helping to calm the response that causes the body to attack its own joint cartilage. Clinically supported at 20mg per dose, it supports joint integrity from the inside out.

But we didn't stop there.

Every 1g scoop delivers 100% active ingredients. No fillers, no flow agents, no fluff.

Is it Worth the Price?
Hip & Joint Elite+ is one of the most concentrated joint formulas available for dogs. At 100% active ingredients and clinically studied dosages across every ingredient, there is no filler diluting what your dog actually receives. For a dog under 20 lbs, one jar lasts four months. Even for a large dog, 30 days of a five-ingredient clinical formula that includes patented UC-II® collagen, pharmaceutical-grade Boswellia, and hyaluronic acid compares favourably to purchasing those ingredients separately, or to the ongoing cost of managing worsening joint issues.

Who It's For
If you've noticed your dog hesitating on stairs, lagging on walks, or moving differently than they used to, this formula was made with them in mind. Also ideal for active and aging dogs with higher joint demands.

Proudly crafted in Canada. Every ingredient chosen with intention.

The Science Behind Hip & Joint Elite+

Hip & Joint Elite+ is built around the two most evidence-backed ingredients in canine joint research: UC-II® undenatured Type II collagen and Boswellia serrata. Every ingredient in the formula has peer-reviewed research supporting its role in joint health.

UC-II® Undenatured Type II Collagen

UC-II® is a patented, clinically studied form of undenatured Type II collagen that works through a mechanism called oral tolerance. Rather than simply providing structural building blocks, it interacts with immune tissue in the gut to help calm the inflammatory response targeting joint cartilage. Multiple peer-reviewed studies in dogs with osteoarthritis have demonstrated improvements in pain, lameness, and mobility with UC-II® supplementation (Stabile et al., 2019; Stabile et al., 2022; Gupta et al., 2012). A 2024 randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover trial found that UC-II® combined with Boswellia produced clinically meaningful improvements in mobility scores within four weeks and reduced the risk of OA flares (Stabile et al., 2024).

Boswellia serrata (65% boswellic acids)

Boswellia serrata is one of the most studied botanical anti-inflammatories in veterinary and human research. It works by targeting specific inflammatory pathways (5-LOX, leukotrienes, cytokines) involved in cartilage breakdown and joint pain. Studies in dogs have shown that Boswellia-containing supplements improve pain and physical function in osteoarthritic dogs (Zapata & Fernandez-Parra, 2023; Stabile et al., 2024; Martello et al., 2022; Caterino et al., 2021). Hip & Joint Elite+ is standardized to 65% boswellic acids, dosed at 8mg/kg, within the optimal research-supported range of 5 to 10mg/kg.

A 2023 scoping review published in Animals concluded that UC-II and Boswellia, alone or together, are valid options in multimodal osteoarthritis management and following intense exercise (Zapata & Fernandez-Parra, 2023).

Hydrolyzed Type I Collagen

Bioactive collagen peptides provide structural support for tendons, ligaments, and connective tissue. Research in dogs with OA has shown improved gait and quality of life with hydrolyzed collagen peptide supplementation compared to active control (Dobenecker et al., 2024). Owner-reported mobility improvements have also been documented in senior dogs supplemented with collagen-containing formulas (C et al., 2025).

Hyaluronic Acid

Oral hyaluronic acid is a component of several successful multi-ingredient OA supplements, where combinations including Boswellia and collagen have reduced pain and clinical OA signs in dogs (Martello et al., 2022; Ragetly et al., 2025).

Vitamin C (Ascorbate)

Vitamin C is included as a collagen synthesis co-factor and antioxidant support. It is present in several effective canine joint formulas alongside Boswellia and other anti-inflammatories (Caterino et al., 2021; Barbeau-Gregoire et al., 2022).

Quality and Sourcing

UC-II® is a registered trademark of Lonza. It is the only form of undenatured Type II collagen with this specific body of peer-reviewed canine research behind it. Hip & Joint Elite+ uses the patented UC-II® ingredient, not a generic undenatured collagen alternative. Every ingredient is selected to a defined specification: Boswellia standardized to a minimum of 65% boswellic acids, hyaluronic acid at a controlled molecular weight for oral bioavailability, and Vitamin C delivered as ascorbate for stability. The formula contains no fillers, flow agents, or inactive ingredients of any kind.

Proudly formulated and made in Canada.

FAQs

Can I use Hip & Joint Elite+ alongside your Hip & Joint Health?

Yes, and for many dogs it's the ideal combination. Hip & Joint Health | NZ Green Lipped Mussel works as whole-food joint nourishment: it calms inflammation, provides broad joint nutrients, and often delivers earlier, visible comfort. Hip & Joint Elite+ works at a deeper level, supporting cartilage protection, joint lubrication, and immune modulation over time. One reduces the fire; the other repairs the damage. If your dog has moderate to advanced joint issues, is a senior, or is recovering from an injury or surgery, layering both tends to give you the most complete support. Start with Green Lipped Mussel for daily joint nourishment, and add Elite+ when your dog needs more.

How long before I see results?

Hip & Joint Elite+ is not designed for fast, surface-level relief. It works at the structural level — supporting cartilage integrity, joint lubrication, and immune modulation — and that takes time. Most pet parents begin noticing changes in mobility and ease of movement within four to eight weeks of consistent daily use. The improvements tend to be gradual: a dog moving more fluidly, less hesitation on stairs, a longer stride on walks. If your dog needs faster visible comfort in the short term, pairing Elite+ with our Hip & Joint Health | NZ Green-Lipped Mussel can help bridge that gap while the deeper support builds.

How does this compare to Pure Collagen?

Pure Collagen is a foundational supplement supporting joints, skin, coat, and connective tissue across your dog's whole body. Hip & Joint Elite+ is built specifically for dogs facing real joint challenges. It combines UC-II® undenatured collagen, which works through immune modulation rather than just structural support, with Boswellia serrata, hyaluronic acid, and Vitamin C into a complete, targeted formula. If your dog has arthritis, dysplasia, or significant joint issues, Elite+ is the step up.

How long will a 60g jar last?

Up to 20 lbs: approx. 120 days 21 to 45 lbs: approx. 60 days 46 to 75 lbs: approx. 45 days 76 lbs and over: approx. 30 days

How does this compare to Hip & Joint Health?

Both support joint health, but they work in different ways and at different levels. Hip & Joint Health is a whole-food supplement: New Zealand Green-Lipped Mussel provides natural anti-inflammatory compounds (ETA and omega-3s) along with broad joint nutrients, and many dogs show noticeable improvement in comfort relatively quickly. Hip & Joint Elite+ is a targeted functional formula built from clinically studied actives: UC-II® collagen to help calm the immune response attacking joint cartilage, Boswellia to address inflammation at the pathway level, hyaluronic acid for joint lubrication, and hydrolyzed Type I collagen for connective tissue support. Elite+ works more slowly and more deeply. It is not a quick-fix formula. It is designed for long-term joint resilience, cartilage protection, and structural support. Think of it this way: whole-food nourishment when it's enough, targeted support when it's not.

Who is it for?

Dogs with arthritis, hip or elbow dysplasia, connective tissue challenges, or any dog whose joints have been asking for more. Also ideal for senior dogs and high-activity breeds carrying extra joint load.

Can my cat use Hip & Joint Elite+?

Yes, Hip & Joint Elite+ can be given to cats, but the dosages are different than for dogs.
- Cats up to 9 lbs: ⅛ tsp (250 mg) daily
- Cats above 9 lbs: ¼ tsp (500 mg) daily

Why don't all your products have scoops?

We are making a conscious effort with our packaging to reduce waste and scoops are a small way that we can do this. Some of our products are mandated by Health Canada to include a scoop and you will find one inside your jar, these are bamboo spoons which are ultimately compostable. We know that many or all of you, pet parents, will have a measuring spoon inside your home that can be used and reused in our collective effort to be just a little better to our planet.

Is Hip & Joint Elite+ a natural product?

It is made with naturally derived, high-quality ingredients, including clinically studied compounds like UC-II® collagen and Boswellia serrata extract. The ingredients are concentrated and standardized (rather than whole-food) to ensure consistent, effective dosing at every serving. UC-II® collagen is derived from chicken sternum cartilage. Boswellia is a botanical extract. Hyaluronic acid and Vitamin C are purified, naturally derived compounds. The formula contains no fillers, artificial additives, or inactive ingredients of any kind, and is designed to complement whole-food nutrition rather than replace it.

My dog takes multiple supplements, do I need to feed them all in one meal?

No. If your dog eats multiple meals a day and you would prefer to distribute the supplements throughout the day, you can do this.

Can this supplement be broken up between meals?

Yes, if you would prefer to break up the daily recommended dose you can do this. The daily recommended dose is the total for daily feeding, but this does not dictate that it has to be fed in one sitting.
