Sweet Potato + Turmeric Dog Treats: Why They’re Healthy + Amazing

If you’ve ever wished you could spoil your dog with homemade, wholesome, and ridiculously simple cookies — this recipe is for you. Just three ingredients, all packed with natural goodness: sweet potato for tummy-friendly fiber, oat flour for gentle energy, and turmeric for that golden glow of joint and immune support. No fillers, no fuss, no fancy stuff you can’t pronounce, just real food for real dogs. These treats bake up soft, fragrant, and totally taste approved.

Sweet Potato Power: Sweet potatoes aren’t just tasty, they’re tummy-friendly too. Packed with fiber to keep digestion on track and loaded with beta-carotene (hello, Vitamin A!), they help support strong immunity, glowing skin, and healthy vision. Basically, they’re doggy superfood candy… but healthy.

Why Oat Flour: We picked oat flour because it’s gentle on sensitive tummies and naturally gluten-free. Oats bring soluble fiber (those famous beta-glucans) that help with digestion, cholesterol, and blood sugar balance.

Turmeric: Turmeric brings the glow up with curcumin, its active compound known for natural anti-inflammatory benefits. Think of it as a little sprinkle of joint support and immune system love in every bite. Bonus: turmeric is also a powerful antioxidant, helping your dog fight free radicals like a wellness warrior.

Together, these three simple ingredients make a clean, functional treat that supports digestion, joint comfort, and overall vitality — without fillers or fuss. Easy to bake, easy to love, and even easier for your dog to devour.

RECIPE SWEET POTATO & TURMERIC DOG TREATS

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium sweet potato (about 1 cup cooked and mashed)
  • 1 ½ cups oat flour (you can make your own by blending oats)
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder OR Turmeric Wellness+

Instructions:

1. Prepare the sweet potato

  • Peel, chop, and boil (or bake) the sweet potato until soft.
  • Mash into a smooth puree and let it cool.

2. Mix the dough

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the sweet potato puree, oat flour, and turmeric powder OR Turmeric Wellness+.
  • Stir until a dough forms. If it’s too sticky, add a little more oat flour.

3. Shape the treats

  • Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
  • Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about ¼-inch thick.
  • Cut into small shapes using a cookie cutter or simply slice into squares.

4.  Bake

  • Place the treats on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until firm and slightly crisp.

5.  Cool & store

  • Let the treats cool completely before serving to your dog.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week, or refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.

Optional tweak: If you want a crunchier biscuit, turn off the oven after baking and let the treats sit inside with the door slightly open until fully dried out.

And that’s it, simple, healthy, tail-wagging magic cookies baked right in your own kitchen. With just sweet potato, oat flour, and turmeric, you’ve created more than a treat, you’ve given your dog a boost of anti-inflammatory goodness they’ll love.

The best part? You know exactly what’s in them (and what’s not). No fillers, no weird stuff, just real food for real dogs.
