Milk Thistle (Silybum marianum) is a flowering plant that produces seeds. These whole seeds are then ground into a powder. Milk thistle seeds have an active ingredient of a flavonoid compound called silymarin. 

Silymarin, has been widely researched and it may help improve liver function. The Journal of Veterinary Pharmacology and Therapeutics found that silymarin may effectively treat liver dysfunction. BMC Research has also found that the silymarin in milk thistle seeds has hepatoprotective (the ability of a substance to prevent liver damage) properties. And, research on milk thistle seeds has also been found to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory actions.

31-40 lbs: 2/3 tsp
